Mount Willey would be west behind us and Mount Willard would be to the left (north)
however, McGrath puts us facing Mount Willey, facing west,
so redo the google street view, etc.

bronze plaque on the stone
behind is a viewing platform said to be the rock which split the avalanche
here is the ridge above where the slide came down
not the wadsworth view in sketch or prints
those are more likely from the rock viewing platform looking east to mt.
